SEVEN friends from Burstwick have proved that teamwork, determination and community spirit can make a real difference. This summer, Maddie, Bethany, Daisy, Ivy, Svea, Elsie and Tahlia – calling themselves the Burstwick Besties – have been taking part in the Humberside Police Lifestyle project, setting themselves a challenge to raise money for a good cause while providing entertainment for local children. The girls chose to support local charity Go Kids Go, after the organisation visited their school in June to deliver a disability awareness workshop. The session gave pupils an insight into the daily challenges faced by young wheelchair users. Since 1990, Go Kids Go has provided vital wheelchair skills training, helping children and young people build independence and confidence in their everyday lives.
